Pastor Raúl Quiñones
I was born in April 3, 1968 in Brooklyn New York, but I was raised in Puerto Rico. I served in the Military for more than ten years. I served in the Iraq war and many other military conflicts, and I proudly and honorably served my country. I currently work for the Postal Service as a city carrier. I am also a Senior Pastor, and I belong to the Church of God Hispanic Denomination. I was raised in a Christian home, but at the age of twenty, I walked away from the Christian way of life that my mother had taught me. After many years of wandering around like the prodigal son, I decided to come home to a place of a new and closer relationship with God. I learned the purpose and direction that God wanted me to go, and I surrendered myself to his will.
I began my ministry as an Evangelist for eight years, and God allowed me to travel inside and outside the United States (Colombia, Panama, Puerto Rico, Mexico). After a while, God placed in my heart the desire to begin pastoring. I decided to go to school (Bachelors Degree in Pastoral Ministries, Nazarene Bible College) even though I am an ordain minister and have credentials through my denomination (Church of God), and have experience as a pastor (ten years). I knew that the better prepared I am, the better I could serve God and His people. The Bible says; "My people perish because of the lack of knowledge". It is never too late to learn and achieve your dreams. My biggest achievement is to be able to share with others the love, mercy and compassion that God has shown and given to me.
I am married to Sheila Quinones and I have two sixteen year old twin girls (Rashell and Shylane), nineteen year-old teenager (Alieshka), and a fourteen year old boy (Louis). I have been married for seventeen years, and we are a very happy family. The greatest blessing is to be able to be in the ministry with my family, and to see them grow and mature with me. God also allowed me to have a Christian radio ministry in which I was able to reach thousands of people in Colorado Springs and outside Colorado through the radio and internet. My hobbies are to watch sports, lift weights and politics.
My dream is to have a church that could make a major difference and a major impact in the community and in the world. I would like to open orphanages, a ministry for women who have been abuse, support missions worldwide, build churches around the world, and the list goes on. I believe that God has called us to make a difference in the lives of others. I have been pastoring for more than ten years and it has been a blessing. I will also like to get my Doctorate degree in Theology, and I pray that God leads me to always do his will. I pray that I will always give God all the Glory in everything I do. The day that a die, I will like to be remembered as a man that loved God, lived holy for him and made a major positive impact in the lives of my family as well in the lives of people all around the world.
